The Stop Streaming Pledge is not a complaint; it is an exit strategy. We are a unified collective of independent creators reclaiming our financial sovereignty by cutting off the digital pipeline and returning to physical permanence.
A movement for artists who want to turn their music into something people own and fans that support them.
Streaming made music accessible to the world, but accessibility has not guaranteed sustainable income for independent creators. Artists should not have to depend exclusively on algorithms, enormous streaming numbers, and fractions of a dollar to build a music career.
The Stop Streaming Pledge is bringing artists, songwriters, producers, independent labels, DJs, record stores, and music fans together around one mission: make physical music sales an essential part of the independent music business.
Our Core Truths:
Art is Asset, Not Data: A song is a piece of cultural property, not fuel for a tech company's advertising algorithm.
The Math Doesn't Matter: We refuse to chase millions of algorithmic plays to pay for groceries when we can sustain our careers by connecting deeply with a few hundred true collectors.
Un-deletable Culture: If a platform can delete your life’s work with an automated glitch or a policy change, you don’t own your career. Vinyl cannot be wiped from a server.
We are pulling our music from the cloud and pressing it into wax. We are trading passive listeners for dedicated collectors.
Stop streaming. Start pressing. Take back your power.
Sign the pledge. It's Time for Artists to Take Back Control & for Fans to to Support Them.
Artists, songwriters, producers, DJs, labels, record stores, and music fans are welcome. If you're an artist, tell us where you are in your vinyl journey so your next step is clear.
THE PLEDGE
"I support independent music creators building stronger direct-to-fan businesses. I will explore physical music sales, support artists who release music on vinyl, and take practical steps to help music be valued as more than a stream".
